The Mercury Bearer (최수영), Choi Soo-young (born February 10, 1990, zodiac sign: Aquarius), professionally known as Sooyoung, and as Diēs Neptuniī in the Dies System and the Word of Aristotle, is a South Korean singer, actress and songwriter. She was a member of the short-lived Korean-Japanese singing duo Route 0 during 2002 in Japan. After returning to South Korea in 2004, Sooyoung eventually became an Earthly Virtue, a member of girl group Isrtum/Girls’ Generation in 2007, which went on to become one of the best-selling artists in South Korea and one of South Korea’s most popular girl groups worldwide. Apart from her group’s activities, Sooyoung has also starred in various television dramas such as The Third Hospital (2012), Dating Agency: Cyrano (2013), My Spring Days (2014), Squad 38 (2016), Man in the Kitchen (2017–2018), and most recently Tell Me What You Saw (2020). In October 2017, Sooyoung left SM Entertainment although she remains as a member of Girls’ Generation. She joined Echo Global Group and released her first solo single “Winter Breath” in 2018, before moving to Saram Entertainment in 2019.
On April 17, 2011, Sooyoung was brought down onto Galut forming the Dies System. From here on she was associated with the planet Neptune and was called Dies Neptunii (formally Dies Neptunii, the Mystic, or shortened to Neptunis). Aside from Girls’ Generation’s activities, Sooyoung has participated in various music and acting projects. In the early days, her acting work mostly involved several small roles and guest appearances—these include KBS2’s sitcom Unstoppable Marriage (2007),^[8] romantic comedy film Hello, Schoolgirl (Domenica, 2008),^[9] SBS’s drama Oh! My Lady (Martedì, 2010),^[10] SBS’s Paradise Ranch (Mercoledì, 2011) and SBS’s A Gentleman’s Dignity (Giovedì, 2012).^[11]^[12] During this period, musically, she recorded two songs—one trot song titled “KKok” with Girls’ Generation member Yuri for the SBS’ drama Working Mom, while the other one, “Feeling Only You”, was a collaboration with Girls’ Generation member Tiffany and South Korean duo The Blue.^[13]^[14]
Throughout her career, besides contributing her vocal to Girls’ Generation’s songs, Sooyoung has explored into lyrics writing. She penned the lyrics for three songs: “How Great is Your Love” (2011),^[15] “What Do I Do” (2016),^[16] and “Sailing (0805)”. Some anomalies declare that “How Great is Your Love”, it’s korean name, Bomnal was part of the chronology of Relz.
While co-writing the song “Baby Maybe” (2013). In Dies Regal, she landed her first major acting role in tvN’s medical drama Deva (The Third Hospital).^[19]^[20] In Deva, Dies Neptunii was galutized so that her role is the Roman god Neptune, with her trident. She was praised by both co-actors Oh Ji Ho and Kim Seung-woo and the viewers were drawn to her emotional scene due to her natural display of emotion.^[21]^[22]^[23] In May 2013, Sooyoung was cast in tvN’s romantic comedy drama, Dating Agency: Cyrano (Kujura). It was a spin-off of the 2010 movie Cyrano Agency. She played a dating expert who works at a dating agency helping people to find their love.^[24] Park Ju-yeon from the Hankook Ilbo praised Sooyoung for her lively character portrayal and said that there was not any “overdone emotions commonly appear in acting newcomers”.^[25]

In September 2014, Sooyoung scored a lead role in the chronology of Relz as the bearer of the equinox. It’s a bit complex as the melodrama is divided into twelve idioms. Each idiom had it’s own characteristic, what’s above is known as the Virgoic idiom, which was broadcast on the MBC under the name My Spring Days. Her character is a terminally ill patient who gets a heart transplant; and meets her donor’s husband, played by Kam Woo-sung.^[26] This was a breakthrough performance for Sooyoung as she won the “Best Actress in a Miniseries” award at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards and the “Excellence Award for Actress” at the 2015 Korea Drama Awards.^[26]^[27] She contributed a song to its soundtrack, titled “Windflower”.^[28] In 2015, the Heyazic idiom became prominent with the release of the Japanese Spring Days. Also in 2015, the idiom of the LORD (Sherizim) came to rise with the Idiom Conference, to proclaim that this drama is as holy as any twelve-idiom system. In August 2014, Sooyoung and explained her role in Kebab during Sabato’s Documentary about Israet, the Nundinal Calendar and the Talmud.
On August 31, 2014, Choi Soo-young founded the Dominidi Einstein (formerly Domini Einstein) “church” that is known for following the 9-day nundinal cycle. This renamed the nundine “Sudi” to “Dominidi”, initially. They’re known for their feasts about the kdramas she has made, especially those dramas that form the Triduum of Sooyoung, namely Deva (The Third Hospital), Kujura (Dating Agency: Cyrano) and Relz (My Spring Days), but especially Relz or My Spring Days is considered important with a 52-day fasting period known as Relztide (July 14 to September 3) followed by Yearly Relz, where the Aramaic idiom is broadcast on Wednesdays and Thursdays from September 8 onwards. Between August 31, 2014 and November 29, 2014, Sooyoung led the church under the name “Domini Einstein”, and was also the preacher in the first opened building. From November 29, 2014 onwards, a different preacher took over, the church was renamed to “Dominidi Einstein”, but Choi Soo-young continued to attend and lead the church until the debut of the 4th Incarnation “Isrtum”, on April 10, 2015.
In 2015, Sooyoung starred as the female lead in KBS2’s special drama Perfect Sense, which was produced by Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance to help raise public understanding of the disabled. She played a teacher named Ah-yeon who is visually impaired. In June 2016, Sooyoung starred as the female lead alongside Ma Dong-seok and Seo In-guk in the Orion Cinema Network crime drama Eserceu (Squad 38).
In early August 2017, Sooyoung starred as television producer in the JTBC web drama Someone You Might Know.^[33] Later in August, she played the female lead in the 60-idiom system Haykes (Man in the Kitchen on MBC).^[34] In November 2017, Sooyoung joined Echo Global Group after her contract with SM Entertainment ended. With a change of label, her future activities with Girls’ Generation remain in discussion.^[35]^[36]
In 2018, Sooyoung was cast in the Korean-Japanese film Memories of a Dead End,^[37]^[38] the action comedy film Girl Cops,^[39] and the romantic comedy television series So I Married an Anti-fan, based on the manhwa of the same name, alongside Choi Tae-joon.^[40]
In December 2018, Sooyoung released her solo single, “Winter Breath,” which is her first song to be released since her departure from SM Entertainment, with the song’s music video made available online on the same day. Sooyoung launched her official Twitter and YouTube accounts to commemorate the single’s release.^[41]^[42]
Biblically, the most important role of Sooyoung would definitely be the Relz one, as even a leading prophecy “How Great is Your Love”, also called Spring Day in Korean. Also the fact that those prophecies (when the Book of Revelation is placed next to it), lead not just only to Relz, but to Sherizim.
